Christine Roderick LMT

Christine Roderick
Christine Roderick has been both the office manager and a massage practitioner at Wildwood Medicine since 2009.  She obtained her certification in therapeutic massage from Spa Tech Institute in Westbrook, and has been licensed in Maine since 2006.  In addition to her therapeutic massage training, she has completed 32 hours of continuing education in oncology massage.  Massage services are offered right at Wildwood Medicine, often in conjunction with other types of treatments such as physical therapy and acupuncture, and can often help to:

  • Reduce stress, anxiety, and depression.
  • Relieve muscular tension and soreness.
  • Increase joint flexibility and improve range of motion.
  • Assist in rehabilitation from injury or surgery.

Christine became a massage therapist because of her interest in holistic health care.  Her philosophy is simple:  by reducing stress of the mind and body, we reduce the instance of stress-related illness.  A resident of Portland, she also has a B.A. in Fine Art and spends much of her free time in her studio.

Please call or email Wildwood Medicine for appointments, rates, and information on special massage therapy memberships.

Anthem insurance and health savings accounts are accepted for payment of services if covered by your plan.  Please contact your insurance carrier for details.

Gift Certificates are available for massage services.

What is oncology massage?

Oncology massage provides individuals with a current or past diagnosis of cancer safe, effective massage using a variety of techniques developed through specialized training.  Oncology massage is often provided at many cancer care centers throughout the U.S. and is provided by therapists who are trained to adapt their treatments for the individual needs of the client.

Individuals interested in receiving oncology massage, will be instructed to arrive about 20 minutes early to your first appointment in order to complete an individualized intake.  We can also email intake forms to you at your request.
